Time Travel Romance Somewhere My Love–Free Kindle Thru 8/18

Somewhere My Love (Book 1, Somewhere in Time) is the story that began my preoccupation with time travel. It spun into the Somewhere in Time series, and now I’ve added a new series with Ladies in Time. Both series are similar and have historical, paranormal, and often ghostly elements. I like a good mystery in my time travels so that’s also an important feature. And above all, romance. These are love stories.

Blurb:  Two hundred years ago Captain Cole Wentworth, the master of an elegant Virginian home, was murdered in his chamber where his portrait still hangs. Presently the estate is a family owned museum run by Will Wentworth, a man so uncannily identical to his ancestor that spirit-sensitive tour guide Julia Morrow has trouble recognizing Cole and Will as separate. As Julia begins to remember the events of Cole’s death, she must convince Will that history is repeating, and this time he has the starring role in the tragedy. The blade is about to fall.

Many of My Books In Audio! #Audiobooks

If you enjoy listening to stories, I have a growing number of audiobooks. More  will soon be added to my author page at Audible and Amazon. The latest of my books now in audio is ghostly Time Travel romance, Somewhere My Lady (Book One, Ladies In Time). Narrator Sarah King did a super job.

Story Blurb:

Is he real or is he a ghost?

Lorna Randolph is hired for the summer at Harrison Hall in Virginia, where Revolutionary War reenactors provide guided tours of the elegant old home. She doesn’t expect to receive a note and a kiss from a handsome young man who then vanishes into mist.

Harrison Hall itself has plans for Lorna – and for Hart Harrison, her momentary suitor and its 18th-century heir.
Past and present are bound by pledges of love, and modern science melds with old skills and history as Harrison Hall takes Lorna and Hart through time in a race to solve a mystery and save Hart’s life before the Midsummer Ball.

The White Lady, Book Two Ladies in Time Series, is also a recent audio addition. Narrator Susan Marlowe did an excellent job.

Story Blurb:

Avery Dunham has always been ready to follow her friend, time-traveling wizard Ignus Burke, on incredible adventures. This time, though, she has serious misgivings. It’s just one week before Christmas, but she cannot get him to change his mind. The usually cool and collected magic-wielding leader is wholly obsessed by the portrait of the White Lady whom he is bent on rescuing.
Almost as soon as they begin their journey, it becomes clear their mission is a trap. Avery was right: this adventure is not going to be like any other.

Another new addition to my audio fold is historical mystery/adventure romance Traitor’s Legacy, sequel to Enemy of the King. Both novels are set during the high drama of the American Revolution. Narrator Lisa Valdini is excellent in this audiobook.

Story Blurb: 1781. On opposite sides of the War of Independence, British Captain Jacob Vaughan and Claire Monroe find themselves thrust together by chance and expediency.

Captain Vaughan comes to a stately North Carolina manor to catch a spy. Instead, he finds himself in bedlam: The head of the household is an old man ravaged by madness, the one sane male of the family is the very man he is hunting, and the household is overseen by his beguiling sister, Claire.

Torn between duty, love, and allegiances, yearning desperately for peace, will Captain Vaughan and Claire Monroe forge a peace of their own against the vagaries of war and the betrayal of false friends?

A wonderful British narrator, Rebecca McKernan, did a fantastic job with my English historical romance, Into the Lion’s Heart.

Story Blurb:

Will the English captain save a woman the French Revolution would devour when he knows the truth?

Georgian England, 1789: As the French Revolution rages, the English nobility offer sanctuary to many a refugee. Captain Dalton Evans arrives in Dover to meet a distant cousin, expecting to see a spoiled aristocrat. Instead, he’s conquered by the simplicity of his new charge. And his best friend Thomas Archer isn’t immune to her artless charm, either.

French émigré Cecile Beaumont didn’t choose to travel across the Channel. And she certainly didn’t expect that impersonating her own mistress would introduce her to a most mesmerizing man. Now she must play out the masquerade, or risk life, freedom – and her heart.

Poignantly sweet, ghostly Christmas Romance, Somewhere The Bells Ring, is a wonderful audio book. Narrator Tom Jordan is fabulous.

Story Blurb:

Caught with pot in her dorm room, Bailey Randolph is exiled to a relative’s ancestral home in Virginia to straighten herself out. Banishment to Maple Hill is dismal, until a ghost appears requesting her help. Bailey is frightened but intrigued. Then her girlhood crush, Eric Burke, arrives and suddenly Maple Hill isn’t so bad.

To Eric, wounded in Vietnam, his military career shattered, this homecoming feels no less like exile. But when he finds Bailey at Maple Hill, her fairy-like beauty gives him reason to hope – until she tells him about the ghost haunting the house. Then he wonders if her one experiment with pot has made her crazy.

As Bailey and Eric draw closer, he agrees to help her find a long-forgotten Christmas gift the ghost wants. But will the magic of Christmas be enough to make Eric believe – in Bailey and the ghost – before the Christmas bells ring?

Review for Somewhere the Bells Ring at Audible: “Well done!
This isn’t my usual genre, but I found myself liking the book more than I thought I would. The narration was excellent and really drew me into the story. I recommend the book.”

Another super audiobook is The Hunter’s Moon, Book One in my Young Adult Fantasy Series Secret Warrior. Narrator Victoria Brodski did a sensational job.

Story Blurb:

Seventeen-year-old Morgan Daniel has been in the witness protection program most of her life. But The Panteras have caught up with her and her younger brother. Her car is totaled, she’s hurt, and the street gang is closing in when wolves with glowing eyes appear out of nowhere and chase away the killers. Then a very cute guy who handles a bow like Robin Hood emerges from the woods and takes them to safety at his fortress-like home. And that’s just the first sign that Morgan and her brother have entered a hidden world filled with secrets…

“Great on Audio
ByR. Grabowskion May 15, 2018

Format: Audible Audiobook
This was a fun read… or listen. It was actually one of the first YA books I listened to on audio.

The beginning of the book pulled me right in with a scene with 16-year-old Morgan and her 10-year-old brother, Jimmy. It reminded me a lot of the relationship Meg has with Charles Wallace in a Wrinkle and Time because Jimmy is also very smart. (He was actually one of my favorite characters.) I loved how the author created a beautiful world in the Shenandoah valley of Virginia where some people can change into werewolves. The focus of the book was more on Morgan’s curse and her future. The real action will start in book 2 as this was only a novella. It kept me hooked with interesting characters and a unique take on werewolves.”

Furbaby Friday with Michelle Kidd!

I am happy to have my friend and fellow author Michelle Kidd here to share her darling little dog and début novel, Inspirational Time Travel Suspense, Timeless Moments. She hit it out of the park with her first book which is soaring at Amazon.

Michelle: Introducing Lacy

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share my fur baby with you. Thank you, Beth, for having us. My Lacy girl was a surprise gift from my husband on Easter 2011. Normally, I know when he’s hatching some plot, but her arrival came as a complete surprise. I had said after I lost my beautiful Cocker Spaniel, Samantha, I wasn’t sure I could go through that pain again. But my husband, who couldn’t stand me grieving, took matters into his own hands. I’m so glad he did. The holes those little pawprints leave can never be filled, but the heart is a wonderful thing. In time it can expand and grow to love again.

From the minute that fluffy white ball of fur crawled into my lap, shy and clingy, I knew she needed me as much as I needed her. She got over her shyness pretty quickly and totally took over our lives before we realized it. My boys adore her, and I love having another female in the house. She is definitely Mama’s girl. I’d never heard of a Bichon Frise. I read up on them and learned they are in the poodle family, but there’s nothing prissy or fru-fru about this gal. She’s my little tom boy.

A typical day for her includes barking at the groundhog who lives under my neighbor’s shed, running the fence with her pal, the beagle, keeping my boys company while they splash in the pool, and helping her mama write the current WIP. When she’s not otherwise occupied, she loves the occasional bath—yes, you read that right. She often falls asleep while I’m rinsing her, no doubt worn out from all her other activities. It doesn’t matter where she is or what she’s doing, she comes running at the sound of the blow dryer. Wet or dry, she has to have her curls blown out.

When I sit down at the keyboard, she recognizes it’s time to get to work. It’s a tough job supporting and encouraging a writer. Lacy knows a writer’s life isn’t always easy, but her unflagging optimism gives me courage to keep typing away, even on the hardest of days!

Blurb from Timeless Moments:
(Christian Time Travel Suspense)

What’s hidden in the dark will be brought to light . . .

When Jewel Wiltshire marries, she vows to love, honor, and obey. Little does she know that her husband’s secrets will push her faith far beyond anything she can imagine. For two years she remains a prisoner until a mysterious stranger appears offering friendship and hope.

Jack Vines has the Victorian home of his dreams—or so it seems until he discovers an intriguing beauty lurking in the shadows. Stunned, he finds they share the house but live a century apart. She is a prisoner of the past, shrouded in a world of dark mysteries. He holds the keys that will protect their future. When her letters suddenly stop, can he unravel the mystery that threatens to alter both their lives forever?

Excerpt:

Jack pressed his nose against the car window. The chilled sensation made shivers race down his spine, or maybe it was anticipation. He enjoyed the way the pale yellow sunlight streamed through the morning fog. The light shimmered across the damp street of Rivermont. How he loved the smell of wet pavement. He didn’t understand his excitement. He only knew it stirred him, this small feeling like the flutter of butterfly wings in his stomach.

To his eight-year-old mind, the Victorian homes emerged from the mist and stood like ageless soldiers along the avenue. His house was coming into view—it wasn’t his house, he corrected himself, not yet, but someday.

Here, time stood still. He closed his eyes and pictured the horse-drawn carriages, imagined the clip-clop of their hooves against the street. But if he shut his eyes, he might miss something, and he loved to look at the grand houses.

He knew every stone, every window. His heart beat faster at the grandeur. His eyes locked on each feature, the steps, the porch, down to the black numbers nailed with precision to the side of the door. He loved each detail, including the massive oak whose branches stretched out a welcome.

In autumn, the yellow-orange leaves lit the street with a peaceful glow. They fell by the hundreds, surrounding the base of the tree like a fancy dress worn long ago. Sometimes when he squinted just so, it appeared to be a grand lady calling to him. Someday he’d answer, some day…

A Warrior For Christmas (Colonial American Christmas)

Colonial American Christmas Romance

December 1764, the Philadelphia Countryside: Reclaimed by his wealthy uncle, former Shawnee captive Corwin Whitfield finds life with his adopted people at an end and reluctantly enters the social world of 1764. He plans to return to the colonial frontier at his first opportunity–until he meets Uncle Randolph’s ward, Dimity Scott.

Deaf since a childhood bout of Scarlet fever, Dimity Scott intends to be cherished for herself, not her guardian’s purse, even if it means risking spinsterhood. Then the rugged newcomer arrives, unlike any man she’s ever known. Dimity has learned to manage her silent world, but unaccustomed to the dangers of the frontier, can she expect love and marriage from Corwin, who longs to return to his Shawnee life?

“A Warrior for Christmas took me by complete surprise. I expected the usual tale of a former Indian captive transcending his past to live the life of a gentleman, but Beth Trissel’s exquisite writing skill made me love this story…No reader of historical romance will want to miss A Warrior for Christmas, even if it isn’t Christmas.” ~Two Lips Reviews (Five Lips and A Recommended Read Rating)

New Release! Holiday Time Travel Romance–The White Lady

It’s just one week before Christmas, but Avery Dunham cannot change Ignus Burke’s mind. They absolutely must travel back in time and rescue the White Lady in the painting in his living room.~

In the ghostly White Lady lore I’ve read, the tales don’t usually portray her as vindictive—usually. And that’s the catch with my ghostly, magical, adventure through time. Oh yes, and there’s romance.~

Blurb from The White Lady:

Avery Dunham has always been ready to follow her friend, time-traveling wizard, Ignus Burke, on incredible adventures.

Avery was right: this adventure is not going to be like any other.~

Excerpt:

Avery had a few queries on the tip of her tongue, like, “Are you out of your freaking skull?”

If she didn’t ask, Stan probably would. They’d graduated from high school this past June and worked part-time ‘nothing’ jobs, taking a break before college while finding their way, as Avery’s mother put it. Mostly, they were drawn to Ignus like moths to a flame, especially Avery. Not that he noticed.

If only he’d look at her the way he did the white lady. More and more, the portrait seemed to dominate his thoughts. How could a petite, okay short, girl in a sparkly pink sweater and unicorn leggings compete with this tantalizing beauty?

Avery wasn’t plain, some even referred to her as cute, but exotic didn’t describe her. Quirky, sure. She wouldn’t term her brown eyes deeply affecting, and her face wouldn’t compel men through centuries to her side. The best she could do was plead with him.

“Ignus, be reasonable. Please.”

No reply. He wore his stubborn look. Crossing his arms over a lean chest, he tilted his head to better view the femme fatale on the wall above them.

The tousled brown hair covering his ears and forehead needed a trim. In his red Zombie Preparedness hoodie with a white rescue logo, gray dress pants, and white high-topped sneakers, he was the quintessential nerd. Most importantly, he was a wizard and time traveler with a passion for rescuing lost souls. His fervor for this particular lady was alarming.~

The White Lady is available in eBook from all online booksellers.
