Wooo hooo! My blood levels are good and even a little better than my last check four months ago. The hematologist has declared my T-cell LGL leukemia dormant and I don’t have to see him again until February. I think all the green tea I drink and the olive leaf extract I take has an immeasurable amount to do with my amazing improvement. Not to overlook the power of prayer. The leukemia didn’t just go back to sleep on its own. When I was initially diagnosed back in May of 2010, I was well on my way to needing the big guns treatment, say within a year, the doctor predicted, and I saw him every 4-6 weeks as he wanted to keep a close eye on me. But through research, which comes naturally to this author, I discovered how to help myself and hope to inspire others.
I drink 2 quarts of freshly brewed green tea a day, broken up into pints, and take one–two olive leaf capsules daily. I used to take three, morning, noon and night, but have cut back some. Initially the olive leaf made me feel worse, which I’ve read is a result of it cleaning out toxins and means it’s working. I’ve stuck with this regime day in and day out for over two years now, and will continue to do so. Vitamin C and Vitamin D are also recommended and ToCoQ10.
Now, if I can just get my gluten intolerance under control and figure out the many hidden sources of gluten so I can truly manage my diet and not destroy my gut. And yes, I’ve discovered gluten in some kinds of tea, but Yogi Green Tea with Kombucha, to which I attribute my greatest benefits in getting my chronic leukemia to go back to sleep, is gluten-free. As are the olive leaf extract capsules I take from Olivus.
***Disclaimer: this is my experience, and may not be yours, but if you have chronic leukemia or some other debilitating condition and have no contradictions for drinking green tea or taking olive leaf (check cautions on the Olivus site in the link above) then what have you got to lose? Quite possibly much to gain.

There are many wonderful alternative therapies for once dreaded dis-eases. Seven years ago I had surgery for lung cancer and took ayurvedic herbs for adrenal support while undergoing chemo. A year later I was diagnosed with breast cancer, completely unrelated. That was six years ago, and I’m very healthy now. And I drink green tea, but not to the degree you do, Beth. Be Well!

Yay, Beth, so happy to hear this. If you want to add to your arsenal of natural ingredients, you might want to read up on turmeric, if you haven’t done so. It’s supposed to be a powerful aid in keeping your immune system strong.

Thanks. Yes, I am aware of the benefits of tumeric but it upsets my delicate digestion. But thanks for the reminder for others.

Fantastic news, Beth! It’s interesting how you helped yourself. Only last week I read an article about an extract in green tea that’s meant to be beneficial – and you’ve been using it all along! 🙂
My mother is a natural medical practitioner and we’re both always interested in expanding our knowledge. Fascinating!

Yes, thanks.I learned about the green tea and it’s possible benefits for chronic leukemia from the Mayo Clinic, a trial they are conducting. And the olive leaf was on a leukemia message board from a patient who had helpful results, also added the other vitamins I mentioned.
